Planning Packs

Family together
4packs, from £395 all in
Planning packs

One plan. One price. Nothing important left open.

Most families do not need “a will”. They need to know that whatever happens — tonight, or in thirty years — the people they love are looked after and nobody is left guessing.

Our packs put the right documents together in one appointment, for less than buying them one at a time. Your adviser prepares everything, checks it, and shows you exactly how to sign it.

Property and trust packs

When the family home is the biggest thing you own

Most couples own their home jointly, so on the first death the whole house passes to the survivor and the will never comes into it. These two plans give each of you a share of your own, held for the people you choose. You plan it with one of our advisers; the documents are drafted through our panel of solicitors, who also carry out the Land Registry and HMRC work. Every case is quoted as a fixed fee before anything starts.

Home Protection Plan

For a couple whose home is worth less than £325,000 per person, who want each half to reach their own children whatever happens next.

  • A lifetime trust over your share of the home
  • Deed of severance: joint owners become two defined halves
  • Trustees registered at HM Land Registry
  • Trust registered with HMRC
  • Wills drafted to work with the trust, and your letter of wishes
  • Storage and your first year of Trustee Care

All-inclusive fixed fee · Land Registry disbursement quoted separately

inc. VAT£2,295

Family Legacy Plan

For estates above the allowance. The same protection, with the wills that keep your residence allowance available.

  • A family asset protection trust over the home
  • Mirror wills with a life interest for the survivor
  • Deed of severance
  • Trustees registered at HM Land Registry
  • Both trusts registered with HMRC
  • Letter of wishes, storage and your first year of Trustee Care

All-inclusive fixed fee · Land Registry disbursement quoted separately

Trustee Care

Every trust needs annual trustee minutes and somewhere safe for the deed. Included in year one of both plans, then £195 a year.

per year£195

Severance of joint tenancy

Turns joint ownership into two defined halves. The first step in almost all property planning, complete on its own.

inc. VAT£195

Declaration of trust

Who owns what, in writing. For unequal deposits, help from parents, or unmarried couples.

inc. VAT£595

Deed of variation

Someone has died and the will is wrong or out of date. The family has two years to change it.

inc. VAT£1,195

HMRC trust registration

A trust set up years ago and never registered. A legal obligation with penalties; we register it and take over the minutes.

inc. VAT£250

Probate and estate administration

Handled by the solicitors on our panel for a fixed fee, never a percentage of what the family inherits.

On the first death, that person’s share of the home passes into the trust rather than to the survivor outright, so it is held for the people they chose. The survivor carries on living in the house as before. A trust is not right for everyone and creates duties that last for years; it cannot guarantee any tax or care-assessment outcome, and we do not give tax advice. Preparing trust deeds and other deeds dealing with property, Land Registry applications and probate are reserved legal activities carried out by the regulated solicitors on our panel, who are responsible for that work and whose terms you receive before anything starts. Will Writing Network is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority or the Financial Conduct Authority.

Why a pack beats a single document

The gap is never the will. It is everything around it.

A will is only half the story

It works when you die.

An LPA works while you are alive — and that is the document families wish they had when a parent has a stroke at 62.

Your executors will thank you

Months of searching, avoided.

The Executor Pack lists every account, policy and pension in one place, with a step-by-step guide to the job.

A lost will is the same as no will

Kept safe, findable, registered.

We register your will and can deposit the original with the court, so it cannot quietly disappear in a house move.

Life will change

And your will will not, unless you change it.

A year of document care is included in every pack: a reminder, a review and safe storage.

How it works

Four steps, and we do the heavy lifting

Tell us about your family

A relaxed conversation by video, phone or at your kitchen table. No forms to wrestle with.

We build your plan

Your adviser recommends the pack that fits, quotes a fixed price and answers the awkward questions honestly.

We prepare and check

Everything is drafted, checked and explained before you sign anything. One round of changes is included.

Signed, registered, safe

Clear signing instructions, registration and storage, and a reminder when it is time to review.

Questions

Before you choose

Can I start with a will and add the rest later?

Yes. Many clients start with a will and add LPAs a few weeks later. The pack simply costs less than buying the same documents one at a time.

What are the OPG fees?

The Office of the Public Guardian charges £92 to register each Lasting Power of Attorney. You pay that directly to them, not to us. A reduced fee or an exemption may apply on a low income or certain benefits.

Do we both have to be there?

For a couple, yes — we ask each of you the questions separately, because assuming both partners want the same thing is how mistakes happen.

What if my situation is complicated?

Say so early. Property owned jointly or abroad, a business, a previous marriage or a vulnerable beneficiary all change the advice, and some of it involves our solicitor partners.

How quickly can it be done?

Most drafts are ready within five working days of your appointment. Ask about our express service if you need it sooner.

Ready when you are

Tell us what you need and we will match you with an adviser covering your part of England or Wales.
